Many holiday foods are loaded with a chemical called tyramine or a preservative called nitrate or with monosodium glutamate, MSG.
Food culprits include: red wine, vermouth, aged cheese, all nuts, salami, pepperoni, bacon, smoked fish, sometimes Chinese food. Also pickles, olives, sour cream, yogurt, chocolate even mincemeat pie.
